Evan Caron was previously Head of Venture Investments at Riverstone- Riverstone Private equity a $40 Billion+ energy investment and infrastructure firm. Prior to that, Evan was CEO and Co-Founder of ClearTrace, an ESG data management platform focusing on tracking corporate emissions and environmental reporting. Evan is also a Co-Founder of Daylight Energy, an early stage community energy software network. As a cofounder of HGP Storage, Evan was active in building an in-front-of-the-meter utility scale battery storage business with over 400MW/800MWh of capacity. Evan serves on the Board of RPower, a distributed energy solutions platform backed by Isquared. Evan previously held a Board position in a large retail energy provider, MP2 Energy, which was acquired by Shell in 2017. Evan brings over 20 years of experience in managing energy, electricity risk, and other complex commodity structures while work at Deutsche Bank, Mercuria, and Trailstone.

Gusty serves as Principal at Montauk Climate. Prior to joining Montauk Climate, Gusty helped build Riverstone Ventures, Riverstone Holdings’ early-stage climate tech investment platform where she worked on all aspects of the investment process culminating in 30 platform investments. She also worked on the early formation and IPO of Riverstone’s recent SPAC, focused on nature-based solutions for decarbonization. In addition to her investing roles at Riverstone, she developed the firm’s ESG and emissions reporting program, assisting the firm’s legacy energy and power portfolio companies in adopting public reporting for Riverstone’s publicly traded fund. Prior to Riverstone, Gusty led the fundraising and business development programs for the Montana Land Reliance, the largest state-based land trust in the United States. She has served on nonprofit governing and advisory boards of directors for groups including the Montana Environmental Information Center (MEIC), the Montana’s Land Reliance, Trout Unlimited, and the Montana Master Hunter Program. Gusty received a BA in Environmental Studies from Brown University and an MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Kirk serves as a Partner and Head of Venture at Montauk Climate. Prior to Montauk, Kirk served as the first-ever head of Climate and Impact and a member of the Senior Operating Committee at Vista Equity Partners, where he led the design, implementation, and leadership of climate and impact investing and value creation initiatives across $100 billion in assets under management. Before Vista, Kirk was an early member of the Sustainability Team at TPG. His efforts demonstrated the positive financial impact of sustainability and climate initiatives across hundreds of investments and contributed to the launch of The Rise Fund. Kirk also held senior roles at PwC, where he built early impact investing and climate programs for PE and VC firms, and at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where he partnered with The Carlyle Group and KKR on sustainability operations and investment initiatives. Kirk also serves as a board member for GTech, a technology and innovation school in Armenia. Kirk has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University.

Mahsa is as Principal at Montauk Climate, where she focuses on deal sourcing, diligence, execution and supporting portfolio companies post-investment. Prior to joining Montauk Climate, Mahsa was an investor at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), where she evaluated new technology-enabled infrastructure investments across the energy and digital infrastructure sectors and worked closely with portfolio companies on value creation activities. Prior to joining SIP, Mahsa was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, where she focused on growth-related efforts, advising banking, energy, and infrastructure clients across North America and the Middle East on strategy, corporate finance, and operations topics. In addition, she worked at the World Economic Forum’s New York office in their Urban Mobility group. Mahsa holds a dual master’s in Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Toronto.

Philip serves as the Co-Founder and CEO at Montauk Climate. Before Montauk Climate, Philip most recently served as the Founder of Montauk Ventures, an early stage investment firm focused on investing in and helping Founders navigate the complexities of hyperscale. Before Montauk Ventures, Philip served as the Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman at Casper Sleep and oversaw the comprehensive business strategy, expansion, and vision for the company. Philip led Casper from its launch, to scaling the business to $500M+ in revenue, through its IPO on the NYSE, and the eventual sale and take-private of the business. A serial entrepreneur, Philip has founded two previous startups, where he focused on evolving consumer and e-commerce trends. Mr. Krim also currently serves as a Director of the Travis Manion Foundation and as a member of the Leadership Council of the Robin Hood Foundation. He received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Sharo is Chief Operating Officer at Montauk Climate. Prior to Montauk, Sharo spent a decade building out a ClimateTech investing platform at one of the world’s largest hedge funds. He was a Portfolio Manager and among the initial and largest investors in a number of growth-stage public companies spanning all clean-tech verticals including solar, hydrogen, wind, energy storage, and utilities. In addition, he ran ESG integration and engagement programs. Sharo was also a Principal at activism-defense and ESG advisory firm CamberView Partners where he established its east-coast presence and grew it to over 50 employees until it was sold to PJT Partners. In that role he counseled Fortune 50 company boards and CEOs on building their initial approach to sustainability programs. In addition, Sharo practiced law in the Corporate and Mergers practices of Simpson, Thacher and Bartlett. Sharo graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political Science, Journalism and Philosophy, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School., and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
